Can it be more dangerous than using a textbook. Many have erroneous facts, some of which are obvious mistakes related to very important events. And, often the content of these books is not actually written by the authors listed on the cover but by publisher employees.

Information today is being generated at the speed of light, so one must expect mistakes and misinformation. That is why we must use many sources in order to confirm what we wish to learn and want to know.

Over time many trusted sources have developed and will continue to develop. And, like most things in life, information from those we trust and the test of time will lead us to the truth.

I agree with the comparison to a textbook, although I am not distrustful of authorship. I am also intrigued by the implication that the nature of Wikipedia makes the question "what is truth?" one for everyone, not just ancient, bearded philosophers.
